New Year's Schedule Changes, Special Events this Week
Looking ahead at the week of Dec. 30, 2013 to Jan. 3, 2014.
THIS week:
- Virginia Railway Express (VRE) does not operate on New Year's Day. The commuter rail will operate on an "S" schedule the week between Christmas and New Year's (Dec. 26 - 31).
- The City of Fredericksburg Treasurer’s Office will be closed to the public Dec. 30 and 31, according to treasurer-elect Brenda Wood. "This closure will accommodate preparation for an audit as required by the Code of Virginia before a newly elected treasurer takes office," she said.
The City’s online payment site, www.fredericksburgva.gov, will continue to function and accept payments. A drop box located in the front window of City Hall is also available for payment remittance. Any bill due dates affected by this closure will be processed as on time when the office reopens to the public on Jan. 2.
All other city offices are open on Dec. 30 and 31.
