St. James' House Fall Opening
Thursday, Oct. 10 - Saturday, Oct. 12, 1 - 4 p.m.
1300 Charles St., Fredericksburg
This small gambrel-roofed house is a fine example of an 18th-century gentlemen's cottage. It was built by James Mercer, the first judge of the General Court in Fredericksburg, and contains a collection of period furnishings, including silver, glass, porcelain, and furniture.
Adults $3; ages 6 - 18, $1.

Fredericksburg Area Wine Festival
Saturday, Oct. 12, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 13, 12 - 5 p.m.
Old Mill Park, 2401 Caroline St., Fredericksburg
Wine, food, entertainment, artisans and crafters. 
$15 in advance; $20 at the gate; $10 for designated drivers and young people ages 7 to 20.

8th Annual Fredericksburg Fall Home & Craft Festival
Saturday, Oct. 12, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 13, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center, 2371 Carl D Silver Pkwy.
$8; Kids 12 and under free.

Chancellor Volunteer Fire & Rescue Open House
Saturday, Oct. 12, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Activities and demonstrations in recognition of National Fire Prevention Week

Falmouth Volunteer Fire & Rescue Open House
Saturday, Oct. 12, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The station is hosting its annual open house for the community to come out meet the members. Sparky will be there. Tour the station, see the equipment, meet Sparky, watch a vehicle extrication demonstration, play in the moon bounce and enjoy food.
