Well, that's just about right, the average of the top 10 CEO salaries in VA is 390x that of theRead More average worker salary of $45,000. US Avg is 475x. Don't know why the average worker is complaining about wage stagnation and lack of jobs. Poor CEOs must work so hard to keep all that money out of the tax man's hands and the grubby hands of the worker! How can they possibly survive otherwise?

When will the City of Fredericksburg WAKE UP and declare a special business district in the Old TownRead More Area of Fredericksburg to support small artisans and small business. We are slowly being bled dry by taxes, rising rents from absentee landlords and ever increasing costs to keep our businesses running against a dollar that has lost 20% of it's value in the last 5 years. I did not move to Fredericksburg to live in a ghost town. This can be turned around but the Town needs to step up to the plate and support small business in a way that will attract niche businesses and artisans. This will in turn draw more interested buyers and business into the Historic District. Go to Williamsburg VA and look at the model they have for Business. Lots of specialty shops that you can't find anywhere else. That is what Fredericksburg needs NOW. Not a Ball park, Not another Antique shop, Not another Tattoo parlor, Not another bar or restaurant. We need small owner owned businesses that produce quality, handcrafted, one of a kind items that are not available anywhere else. If you want to see where our town is headed, go look at Occaquan, It is mostly devoid of shops and the entire riverfront is now luxury residential homes. Our tax base is important to the community but not at the cost of ruining our town. We have one shot at revitalizing our town, keeping it historic, and growing in the right direction. Can the remaining small businesses arrange a meeting with the City of Fredericksburg and discuss options available to us. The current plan clearly is not working
