Will someone please tell me why we are now obsessed with becoming a nation of potheads? I guessRead More these folks weren't around in the 1970's to see what it did to people.

I remember the 1970s. Hundreds and thousands of people died and many more were permanently disabledRead More due to cannabis use. Then, in the 1980s, everyone just stopped. Until now . . .

Oh and wHen the revenue collection officer asks to search your. Vehicle , " I don't consent toRead More searches " is what you need to practice saying . If you have something obviously illegal in plain sight they can seach. Otherwise you have to give Them permission. Which they need or they wouldn't be ASKING. They'd be telling you they're gonna search . When you refuse them permission they will huff and puff and threaten to call in the drug dog. Blah blah.blah Bring it on steroid head . Then you say "am I under arrest or am I free to go?".

userbronco, you are 110% right. They have NO right to search your vehicle. Of course, they areRead More allowed to peer through the glass to see what they can see, but without a suspicion or proof, they have no right searching your glove compartment, trunk, etc. Yes, say 'am I being detained or am I free to go'? Also, don't roll your window down all the way...you don't have to. About 4 or 5 inches suffices. Stand firm with that one. Be polite, but be firm. Be quiet except when asked a question, then use good judgment in answering. Keep saying 'am I being detained or am I free to go'? Holding court on the side of the road is not a good idea. If they persist in asking you if they can search your vehicle, politely tell them they will have to get a warrant. At all times, be courteous, but FIRM. Know your rights!

It's a touchy situation. You want to be as unrememberable as possible to the cop. So when orRead More if you go to court all he wilremember is what he reads in his notebook. That you can request to see by by the way You want to be unrememberable , don't say anything, unless they ask you a question , then use short answers , yes or no will usually suffice, be polite but don't say "sir" a thousand times. I don't say it at all. Make it look like your kissing up . I personally treat cops like I would treat a rattlesnake 96% of the people who are bitten by a rattlesnake are harassing the snake at the time Keep an eye out for them. And don't harass them. You WILL lose any contest with a cop. Even if it's a ego contest on the side of the road . Extra cops are only seconds away and they will beat you up or kill you in a flash if you tick em off Plenty if dash cam and cell phone video to prove it They are kinda like dogs, some are really smart, some are really dumb, but all of em are dangerous in groups or if they feel threatened or if they sense fear in you. Or if they think their getting an easy meal
Don't do it. (Patch file photo.)

Vincent Careatti, I see your posts and they are either about I-66 or Route 7. it seems you get offRead More the I-66 to get onto local roads when I-66 backs up. Does that make you want to use cut through and speed? Sounds like it to me. I want the police to keep an eye on you. Because of your cut through driving, you make it very unsafe for my neighbors children, the elderly and myself. Stay on your I-66 commuter traffic route and stay the heck out of places you don't belong. You are making things worst being there. You are the traffic many people don't want driving in their neighborhoods. You don't live there, don't visit or do business there, so you just don't belong there.

Part of the problem is the length of the traffic cycles. Miss the light and one can end up waiting 5Read More minutes to get going again, and in some cases have to go through multiple cycles to get through the intersection. In our society of impatience, people start doing other things like texting and reading email, then continue to finish up what they are doing once the traffic moves again. I see that every morning that I drive to work.

All this is simply proof that the regions police departments are not doing their jobs. All policeRead More officers are responsible to traffic duty when on duty. Most have an attitude to justify not doing this responsibly. Yet the death toll and injury toll is rising in every region across the nation. The last year's death toll was over 43,000. With serious injury's in the hundreds of thousands! And Fairfax is no exception. Most police officers think that they are supposed to get paid overtime on what is called 'auxilary' traffic duty assignments on $overtime$. And the dispatch offices are in on it as well. They get thousands of calls daily with traffic complaints directly involving improper Motor Vehicle Operator driving in any given area thru out Fairfax and most go ignored. Yet someone will call in a redundant call by comparison and the patrolling officers on duty will respond to it instead of the thousands involving even reckless driving reports! Bottom line? It is such gross negligence it is simply criminal in and upon itself! Emails. Written letters. Phone call reports about same being received about Motor Vehicle Operator small and big infractions and what is being done about it? A patrol officer will be sent out to investigate a kitty cat being stuck in a tree instead by dispatch, backed up by the on duty officer of the shift? And what is the departments sworn duty and oat to office and position? "To Serve and Protect". And what major subject issue is killing and injuring people more than any other? The Motor Vehicle Operator.

So if he "Allegedly" did this, why would you then call the individual that was taken toRead More the hospital the "Victim". Say perhaps the person whom was hurt (and friends), "Allegedly" were attempting to assault Mr. Keihn and he was protecting himself, and wounded the Alleged "Victim". I have heard from a pretty good source the aggression came from the 21 year old and his friends, rather than what has been reported. Common sense leads ME to believe that the individual whom started this altercation by blocking traffic then went to inform his friends. Then confronted Mr. Kiehn as a group. I find this much easier to believe than one individual attacking someone with a whole group of friends around them. Especially a 40 year old man. We all know a group of 21 year olds whom have been drinking are far more likely to resort to fisticuffs than a 40 year old man by himself. This is my opinion, based on what I've been told. I would just like to point out the article is very biased. As you say allegedly then call the second party a victim. My point is if the second party was the aggressor than he can't be the victim. These things will all come out in the wash and we as they say "Shall See".

There are two stories to everything. If you choose to pick a side you must be friends with the 40Read More gentleman. Either party is wrong. The kids should have kept their mouth shut. I would think the 40 gentleman would know better than to just walk away from the situation and realize they are a bunch of drunk disrespectful kids no need to waist time or words on them. In the end the kids should know and show more respect and the gentleman should have never bashed the kid in the face sending him to icu. With this being said he should of just walked/drove away from the disrespectful kids instead of taking action.

12 deaths in Boulder, CO last year due to Heroine overdose...Colorado has a drug problem not a gunRead More problem...But this is what the CommieCRats zeroed in on last year...Passing some of the stupidest, demeaning, unenforceable, frivolous gun laws ever to disgrace this once great state of Colorado...I swear those Senators were all high on drugs when they presented this anti-gun legislation to Gov. (C)hickenpooper who signed these bills into law without even reading them...A common trait amongst Democrats now days!
