Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Founders to Speak at UMW
Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, co-founders of Ben & Jerry's, will be featured speakers for the Fredericksburg Forum on Nov. 10.
The University of Mary Washington announced today that Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, co-founders of Ben & Jerry’s Homemade, Inc., will be the featured speakers at the Fredericksburg Forum on Saturday, November 10. The lecture, “An Evening of Entrepreneurial Spirit, Social Responsibility and Radical Business Philosophy,” will be held at 8 p.m. in George Washington Hall, Dodd Auditorium. Cohen and Greenfield created the ice cream in 1978 in Vermont and it has become one of the most popular brands and a multi-million dollar business. They've received numerous awards, including the U.S. Small Businesspersons of the Year in 1988 by Ronald Reagan and the Corporate Giving Award from the Council on Economic Priorities.
