Officer Assaulted During Bar Fight
Two arrests were made for the early morning fight involving an employee and several subjects.
A City of Fredericksburg police officer was assaulted at about 2 a.m. Saturday while responding for a fight involving an employee and several subjects at the Bourbon Room, the second floor bar of Cafe New Orleans in downtown Fredericksburg. "While the officer was detaining one male subject who had punched a bouncer, the subject’s friend grabbed the officer from behind in a choke hold," said Natatia Bledsoe, Fredericksburg Police Department public information officer, in a press release. The officer deployed O.C. spray (pepper spray) into the face of the second assailant and took him into custody.
