Man In Critical Condition After Hit By Car

For the second time in a day, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Spotsylvania County.

Charles A. Poole of Spotsylvania County is in critical condition after he was hit by a vehicle while walking near the 6300 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office says that Poole, 52, was hit sometime around 8:25 p.m. March 8. A Nissan Maxima driven by a 28-year-old man from Caroline County hit Poole while he crossed Jefferson Davis Highway. The sheriff's office says the driver’s wife and child were also in the vehicle. "The driver remained on scene and called 911 to report the accident," said Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Harvey. Jeff Davis Pedestrian Struck By Car, Dies

Homeless man struck walking on roadway outside of crosswalk in Prince William County. No charges yet filed against driver.

A Stafford County woman struck and killed a pedestrian yesterday in Prince William County. Prince William County Police responded to the scene near the intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway and Panther Pride Drive in Dumfries at about 9:20 p.m. on Sunday. According to police, the 54-year-old Stafford County woman was driving a 2003 GMC Envoy southbound on Jefferson Davis Highway. After passing Panther Pride Drive, her car hit a pedestrian, identified as 43-year-old Ken Lashay Wood of no fixed address, as he was walking in the road and beyond the crosswalk. Wood was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The driver was not injured, and no charges have been filed against her. Police say the investigation into the incident is still in …
