Owner: Autopsies Pending in Horse Deaths

Veterinarians are investigating the 'suspicious deaths' of two horses Friday in Nokesville.

The bodies of two horses found in a field early Friday morning at Four Winds Farm in Nokesville are still being autopsied at the Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center, according to the farm owner. Between 6 and 7 a.m. May 3 a 10-year-old thoroughbred-cross mare was found dead in a field at Julie Mathis' boarding and training facility. A quarter horse palomino gelding was also found in the field; he was severely injured and required euthanasia. Prince William County Police announced Monday afternoon on their Facebook page the horses' deaths were accidental. But farm owner Julie Mathis told Patch that is premature. Police Investigating Suspicious Horse Deaths

Law enforcement seek information about the death of two horses May 3 in Nokesville.

Update 9:30 p.m. - Owner: Autopsies Pending in Horse Deaths Update 8:55 p.m. - Police: Horse Deaths May Be Accidental Original Posting Prince William County Police are investigating the suspicious circumstances involving the deaths of two horses at a farm in Nokesville on Friday, 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn said. "Between 6 and 7 a.m., a ten year old thoroughbred-cross mare was found dead in a field," Chinn said. "A quarter horse palomino gelding was also found in the field; he was severely injured and required euthanasia." Stafford Woman Arrested for Malicious Wounding

Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Stafford woman was arrested Wednesday for cutting a man's face with a knife, according to Prince William County Police. Prince William County Police responded at about 7:50 p.m. to a report of stabbing in the 18400 block of Cabin Rd. in Triangle.  "The victim, a 59 year old man of Triangle, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated," a police spokesperson said.  "During the encounter, the accused allegedly cut the victim to his face with a knife."  Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, police arrested Jennifer Anne Donly, 24, of Stafford.  She is charged with malicious wounding, and is being held without bond, according to police. Subscribe…

Stafford Teen Charged in Fatal Crash

A Fredericksburg man died from injuries sustained after a teen allegedly crossed into oncoming traffic.

Prince William County Police have charged a 17-year-old Stafford female with reckless driving after a crash in Dumfries on Sept. 29. Her court date and bond information were not readily available.   Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said the 17-year-old female was driving southbound on Dumfries Road, near Talon Drive, around 11 p.m., when she crossed into the northbound, oncoming traffic. The car struck four other vehicles, including a 2000 Mercury Marquis, Officer Jonathan Perok, a public information officer with the Prince William County Police Department, said in a press release.  Qasim S.
