Spotsylvania Sheriff Launches Summer Program For Youth
Parents and their children can attend up to eight classes this summer on topics such as Internet safety, female personal safety, bullying and drug and alcohol abuse prevention.
Spotsylvania County Sheriff Roger Harris and his deputies are launching a new summer program for youth with classes on bullying prevention, gun safety, Internet safety and five other topics. The classes begin July 9 and last 90 minutes from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the sheriff's office. There are a total of eight classes. Harris said he wants to work with local parents and their children to be proactive against some of the challenges and pressures youth face today. Seats are limited so parents should pre-register their children ranging in age from 8 to 18. If you are interested in signing your child up for any of these programs, contact First Sgt. S.D.
