Dr. Nibedita Mohanty was arrested and charged with 95 indictments related to narcotics, insurance fraud and involuntary manslaughter, according to The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. Mohanty, age 54, of 441 Marlborough Point Road, has been charged with 72 counts of felony distribution of a schedule II narcotic, 22 counts of felony obtaining money by false pretenses (involving insurance fraud) and one count of involuntary manslaughter, according to Bill Kennedy, Stafford County Sheriff's Office spokesperson. Friends of a Stafford woman killed two weeks ago are upset there are still no charges in the case. "We're all thinking the same thing, that because he's an FBI agent, if justice can actually get done for her,” friend Donna Ulibarri-Peralta told NBC4 Reporter Julie Carey. Nine inmates, members of the Bloodline Imperial Bloods gang, have been charged in two separate incidents.
Nine inmates at the Rappahannock Regional Jail are facing charges for two separate incidents which occurred in the jail on March 28 and 30. In both incidents, it became clear to correctional officers that the suspects had conspired to prevent the officers from completing their daily check of these inmates’ cells, Bill Kennedy, Stafford Sheriff's Office spokesperson, said in a press release. "As a result of the inmates refusing to comply with institution guidelines for the inspection of their cells, the jail’s Special Response Team was called in to extract the inmates from their cells," Kennedy said. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office Saturday installed gates at the entrance to the driveways at 881 and 841 Belle Plains Rd. The two adjacent properties have been an active crime scene since March 14. Dennis Paul Benzie was arrested March 14, after the Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at Benzie's home at 881 Belle Plains Rd. Benzie is in Rappahannock Regional Jail on drug and weapons charges. WUSA-9 reported Wednesday night that law enforcement is searching for bodies at this location. Both properties -- 881 and 841 -- are owned by Sheila Benzie who died in January, according to her obituary at Covenant Funeral Service. A Dennis Benzie is listed as her surviving husband.
