Mitt Romney Wins Virginia and Fredericksburg

Only 4.6 percent of registered voters cast a vote in the GOP Primary today in Fredericksburg polls.

Mitt Romney got 351 of the 615 votes cast in Fredericksburg and went on to win Virginia in today's Republican Primary. Romney and Ron Paul were the only candidates on the ballot. A total of 615 out of 13,346 registered voters went to the polls. More than 4,000 went to the last election in November 2011. With more than 79 percent of total precincts reporting, Romney had 59 percent of the votes or 111,940. Paul had 77,434 votes. I second Lamont's thank you, Brad. And as for the turnout, I went to my polling place twice yesterday to talk to voters. I didn't see any both times I went. But even for local elections the turnout is poor and it's a problem everywhere, not just here. People don't realize how much effect local decisions have on their daily lives.   more ›
