Police: Robbers in Wawa Assault Run Out of Gas

Two men were arrested early Friday in Fredericksburg, when their get-away car ran out of gas.

Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Polliard had no trouble finding two robbery suspects after their get-away car ran out of gas. At approximately 12:21 a.m. March 15, 911 operators received a call about an assault and robbery in the Wawa parking lot at 4625 Harrison Rd. A 29-year-old male victim reported being approached at Mary Washington Hospital by an unknown white male needing a ride to Spotsylvania. The victim offered to take the male to the Wawa at the intersection of Jefferson Davis Hwy. and Harrison Rd.  The victim went into the store, made a purchase, returned to his car and was assaulted and robbed when he got in. The white male to whom he had just given a ride took an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled the area …

Three Assaulted Outside Plank Road Wawa

Fredericksburg police incidents reported through Jan. 15.

The City of Fredericksburg Police Department provided the following information. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. ASSAULT: Wawa, 2390 Plank Rd, 1:15 a.m. Tuesday: Three Spotsylvania residents, ages 18-21, reported they were walking out of the Wawa when they were assaulted by a group made up of approximately five males and three females. The three victims were all forced to the ground and punched and kicked until the assailants broke up and left in various vehicles. One of the victims had his cell phone and Raiders ball cap stolen during the fight. The victims were able to provide descriptions of three of the suspects: The three victims had injuries consistent with the described assault, but all three denied …

Woman Sets Up Male Friend for Armed Robbery

The following information was supplied by the City of Fredericksburg Police Department. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Spotsylvania resident intending to help a female friend was allegedly robbed by that woman and two other men. The Spotsylvania resident reported a female friend picked him up at his home at about 3:10 a.m. Nov. 15 and drove to the Sheetz at 2001 Carl D Silver Parkway in order to put gas in her car, according to Fredericksburg Police Public Information Officer Natatia Bledsoe. The victim gave the female money for the fuel. After paying the clerk, the female started talking to two male subjects standing outside the doors of the business. The two males got into the back seat of the car, with the male victim in the passenger seat and the female driving. Company reports 'large' sum gone in ATM hit

The Fredericksburg Police Department released the following incident report information for June 9: A Spotsylvania County business owner called city police at 10:25 a.m. June 7 to report that an unknown person used one of his company credit cards at a nearby WaWa ATM to take a "large" sum of money.  The investigation is ongoing. 3000 block Fall Hill Ave, 6/3 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.  A Spotsylvania resident reported that his son’s cell phone was stolen while the juvenile was swimming at the river.  The victim later discovered that the phone had been sold on Craigslist.  The investigation is ongoing.
