I whole-heartedly agree with both of you, and it is what makes reading these comment threads more entertaining than enlightening or useful. The problem with the US is the system, and lack of compromise. Everyone is arrogant enough to think that they know it all (just follow these threads for evidence of that), it permeates our government and our politicians entirely. No one is 100% right on this Earth, and anyone who thinks that they are doesn't deserve anyone's vote. Both sides are clearly more interested in stopping the evil that is their opposition than they are in doing anything good for this country...of course they see these things as the same in their minds eye, which is doubly troubling.
-A non-vet who sincerely thanks both of you for your unselfish service to the rest of us in this great country.

and the aliens are still in Roswell....and the US plotted 9/11....and countless other fear mongering illegitimate theories...
You sir, are insane, and possibly the only reason I still read these political threads, because your stuff is often funnier than Laugh Lines, albeit blatantly disrespectful to anyone you disagree with.

ReplyAnother thread which derails the entire Patch site, and monopolizes the recent comment sections with political jargon and everyone claiming they are correct. Divisiveness is what is dooming this country, and it is no more clear than in these threads recently. While it may appear to Patch that they are driving site traffic with these things, you will see the same 10 or so people over and over, and the rest of us going back to other local sites. I am beginning to agree more and more that Patch should stick to covering the local news/events, and stay out of the broad national news items like this one. Local is what most of us came here for to begin with, and now it is very little of what is posted here.

How about on topic? general political banter and arguments were not the intent of this thread either, but merely a discussion on the debate itself. It overruns the recent comments section on the homepage every time you guys put one of these up, because commenters are allowed to run way off the rails...

The only links I've seen posted (a.k.a. spamming) were by you. Honestly, it seems no one here is interested in anything remotely resembling the truth. It's all about Romney's taxes and where Obama was born. neither have anything whatsoever to do with how they run the country (just like GWBs inability to speak clearly, or Clinton's philandering were irrelevant as well). In the end, almost zero comments on this thread are "on topic".

I'll just flag all of the "off-topic" comments as inappropriate, maybe they can control it that way :)

"Osama" and "Mittens"...you people are a general disgrace to the civility of all Americans, IMO... Clearly most of you respect no one but yourselves (and those who think like you on occasion). It does make for a more entertaining read than Laugh Lines, albeit generally useless for anything else.
