Open House on Oct. 12 Celebrates Fire Prevention Week

Chancellor Volunteer Fire & Rescue will celebrate the annual Fire Prevention Week with an Open House event from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 12 at Company 5, located at 5992 Plank Road in Fredericksburg.

The activities for families and kids of all ages include:

  • Demonstration of a mock extrication using rescue equipment
  • Demonstration of how to use a fire extinguisher correctly
  • Moon Bounce for young children
  • Free blood pressure checks
  • Signup for a free Citizen CPR class
  • Free handouts about tips for cooking safely in the kitchen
  • Free handouts with tips and easy recipes to get kids involved in cooking
  • FREE LUNCH for attendees
  • And more!

“We’re excited about concluding Fire Prevention Week, which runs from Oct. 6-12, with this special event for the entire community,” said Kevin Dillard, Administrative Chief for Chancellor Volunteer Fire & Rescue.
