Restaurant With Roof Top Deck to Open Late Summer

Fredericksburg City Council has approved an extension of the opening deadline for Blake and Aby Bethem's new restaurant at 314 William St.

Vivify Burger & Lounge will feature burgers, but also serve as a lounge with a full bar and small-plate fare. 

"They [Blake and Aby Bethem] intended to open the burger business in two phases, but the project has progressed as such that the see value in doing it all at once," Karen Hedelt, director of Economic Development and Tourism (EDT), told City Council. The EDT oversees incentive programs between businesses and the city, in which the Bethem's company -- Fork & Pint Company -- is participating.

This is the second extension granted, and moves the opening date to Aug. 30, 2013.  It will enable the roof-top deck to be completed for the opening.

The new restaurant is across the street from Bistro Bethem, also owned by the Bethem's.

It is going in next door to The Orion Sushi Bar & Ultra Lounge, soon to be opened by its owner, Ryan Bullock.
