BHSA Annual Meeting at Hazelwild Dec. 2

The annual meeting of the Battlefield Horse Show Association (BHSA) will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the Cow Palace Auditorium of Hazelwild Farm, 5325 Harrison Rd., Fredericksburg.

The agenda includes voting on the following amendments to the By-laws:

Article II Membership

"Farm/Stable Membership: Those farms/stables which join as a farm/stable in order to record horses/ponies which are shown under the farm/stable name. The owner, or its representative shall be accorded the rights of Senior individual membership for voting purposes without payment of additional dues, and said owner's name/representative must be listed on the membership application. The designated person can only be changed during any given year upon written application to the Board, and the affirmative vote of the Board accepting the change."

"Show Membership: a. Show membership is a special category of membership
indicating the show is a part of the BHSA competition calendar, and the organizing committee/management affirms its desire to conduct the show in accordance with the rules and regulations of the BHSA. No voting rights are accorded with this class of membership. The designated show manager must
be an individual senior member of the Association and as such will have voting rights as defined in (1) above. ..."

Article X Amendments

"These By-laws may be amended by a vote of majority of the Board of Directors present at a special or regular meeting of the Board, or by a majority of Senior members present at any special or regular meeting of the members, provided at least two (2) weeks notice shall have given of the proposed amendment(s) to be acted upon in the notice calling the meeting."

The meeting will also include the election of five board members, a report of rule changes/additions and a review of the current year's activities.
