Help Bring Suicide 'Out of the Darkness'
Suicide is a public health issue that takes an enormous toll on family, friends, co-workers, and the entire community. However, it's a public health issue that is often not talked about. Please join the National Capital Area Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to help prevent suicide by raising awareness about the issue at one of its three Out of the Darkness Community Walks this fall in the Metro DC area.
- Fairfax NOVA Out of the Darkness Community Walk
Sunday, September 8th at Fairfax Corner Shopping Center - Montgomery County Out of the Darkness Community Walk
Saturday, September 21st at Rockville Town Center - Washington, DC Out of the Darkness Community Walk
Saturday, September 28th at Constitution Gardens
The Out of the Darkness Community Walks are 3-5 miles walks taking place in hundreds of communities across the country this year, with the proceeds benefiting AFSP. By walking in one of the Out of the Darkness Community Walks in the Metro DC area, you will be walking with thousands of other walkers nationwide to raise money for AFSP's vital research and education programs to prevent suicide and save lives, increase national awareness about depression and suicide, and provide support for survivors of suicide loss. In deciding to walk, you are taking us a step closer to making suicide prevention a national priority!
