Armed Robbery of Cab Driver at Cobblestone Apartments

ARMED ROBBERY:
800 block Cobblestone Blvd, 5/21 1:20 a.m.

A driver for Virginia Cab reported  he was dispatched to The Apartments at Cobblestone Square for a customer. The driver was unable to locate the customer, at which point a male leaned into the passenger side window of the vehicle displaying a firearm and demanding money.

The suspect was able to get away with a small amount of cash.

The victim was able to provide a description of the suspect. He is described as a black male, 5’8” – 5’10”, 150-170 pounds, and he was wearing a dark blue or black hooded sweatshirt. The unknown suspect is still at large. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY:
1000 block Littlepage St, 5/18 – 5/19 1:45 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person entered his residence and stole speakers and a laptop computer. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

LARCENY:
2200 Cowan Blvd, 5/17 – 5/20 11:50 a.m. A Locust Grove resident responded to Police Headquarters and reported that her purse was stolen from her vehicle while she was shopping in Central Park. No suspects or witnesses at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Cracker Barrell, 1971 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 5/20 4:30 p.m. An employee reported that a window was broken on her vehicle and her purse was stolen. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

600 block Weedon St, 5/20 5:20 p.m. A neighbor contacted police to report that she observed an individual enter the backyard of a residence and take a lawnmower. Officers responded and located the lawnmower at another residence. Michael Brooks, 60, of Fredericksburg was arrested and charged with grand larceny. Brooks is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on $2,500 bond.

VANDALISM:
2200 block Dogwood Dr, 5/19 – 5/20 8:00 a.m. A resident reported that the wheels of his wife’s company vehicle were damaged. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
