Police Seek Suspect in Carjacking at 7-11

Law enforcement seek help identifying the suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous.

Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a carjacking call at the 7-11 store at 2700 Lafayette Blvd. in Fredericksburg at around 3:40 a.m. Friday.

The victim related that a black male subject followed her into the store and stood around while she made her purchase, sheriff's office spokesman Capt. Jeff Pearce said.  The victim said the subject pulled a knife from his waistband when she left the store, forced her into the vehicle and ordered her to take him to an unknown location.

The victim was able to escape, by jumping from the vehicle.  The suspect then moved to the driver’s side and left in the vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies located the abandoned vehicle a short distance away and began a search for the suspect, but did not locate him.  The suspect escaped with the victim’s purse.
