City of Fredericksburg Police officers responded to the College Heights neighborhood recently for a report of a fugitive fowl at large.
"With help from residents, the chicken was surrounded, captured and detained for questioning, but he (she?) refused to disclose the whereabouts of any accomplices," Natatia Bledsoe, police spokesperson said.
According to Animal Control Officer Tom Worthy, the captured chicken was released after questioning and is now living happily on a farm in Spotsylvania.
