Falmouth Engine Crashes on Way to House Fire

Only minor injuries were sustained in the incident.

A Falmouth Volunteer Fire Station engine rolled onto its side in route to a reported house fire Monday morning, according to the Stafford Sheriff's Office, which is investigating the incident.

Three of the four firefighters on the truck were taken to the hospital for evaluation, Stafford Fire Department spokesman Lt. Mark Stone said.  They were released Monday evening.

The crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. July 29 in the 900 block of Brooke Road.  "We're not sure exactly what happened, but the truck rolled onto its driver side and off to the side of the road," Stone said.

The Falmouth crew was on its way to assist the Brooke Fire Department crew on the scene, when the crash occurred.   The fire was minor and handled by Brooke staff, Stone said.
