Mother, Son Arrested in Burglary Investigation

A mother and son were arrested early Friday morning in the investigation of a home in the 200 block of Progress Street that had been burglarized twice in two days.

According to Natatia Bledsoe, Fredericksburg Police spokeswoman, a resident reported June 20 that for the second time in two days he found evidence in his home indicating someone had entered while he and his wife were at work.

On the first occasion, the homeowner reported that firearms had been stolen, Bledsoe said. In the most recent case, additional items of value were discovered missing or disturbed.

Following investigative leads, detectives obtained a search warrant for an address in the 2500 block of Caroline Street, Bledsoe said. The Special Equipment and Tactical Team executed the high risk search warrant at approximately 2 a.m. Friday morning. 

Three adults and one juvenile were located and identified inside the house on Caroline Street, and two of the adults were taken into custody without incident.

Brandon McBrayer, 29, was arrested and charged with one count of burglary, a felony. McBrayer was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under a $1,500 bond. The investigation is ongoing regarding his involvement in both cases at the Progress Street house. 

McBrayer’s mother, Victoria Faulkner, 55, was also arrested on outstanding charges unrelated to the burglaries. Faulkner’s charges included a warrant from Spotsylvania charging her with possession of schedule I, I narcotics and an indictment from Fredericksburg charging her with distribution of schedule I, II narcotics, as well as a warrant for domestic assault and battery. Faulkner was incarcerated under no bond.
