Police Provide Photo of Bank Robbery Suspect

The suspect made his getaway on a bicycle.

Fredericksburg Police have released a video surveillance photo of the man who robbed First Union Market Bank, 725 Kenmore Ave., in downtown Fredericksburg.

At about 11:35 a.m. Saturday a male suspect presented a note to a teller and implied he had a weapon.  "The teller turned over an undisclosed quantity of cash and the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle," said Natatia Bledsoe, spokesperson for the Fredericksburg Police Department.

The suspect was described as a black male in his late 40s or 50s, wearing a dark hoodie with the hood up, sunglasses, and dark pants or sweatpants.

There were no customers in the bank at the time of the robbery. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fredericksburg Police Department's non-emergency number at 540-373-3122.
