Police Seek 'Person of Interest' in Three Area Robberies

The public is asked to help identify the suspect in the photograph.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office has release two photographs of a man who is a person of interest in the robbery of the Sally’s Beauty Supply store in Washington Square in South Stafford on Thursday, July 11, 2013.  The same individual is also a person of interest in two robberies in Spotsylvania County.

"In the Stafford County incident a man entered the Sally’s Beauty Supply store, pulled a handgun on the employees of the store and robbed them of the money from the store safe and two cash drawers," Bill Kennedy, Stafford County Sheriff's Office public information officer said.  The man was last seen walking out of the store. 

Within an hour of the Stafford robbery, the same suspect robbed a Payless Store in Spotsylvania County, Kennedy said.  The same individual is also a suspect in a robbery at a Sally’s Beauty Supply in Spotsylvania County on June 25, 2013.

Stafford County Detective Barry Surles has been working with detectives from multiple jurisdictions in Virginia and North Carolina in an effort to determine the identity of the suspect.  Surles obtained a photograph from Raleigh Police Department detectives of an individual who robbed a Game Stop Store in Raleigh, Kennedy said.  "The individual in the picture is similar in appearance to the person who robbed the businesses in Stafford County and Spotsylvania County," he said.

The Stafford County Sheriff’ Office is requesting anyone who knows the identity of the individual contact the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office at 540-658-4400, Call Stafford Crime Solvers (where the caller may remain anonymous) at 540-659-2020 or TEXT “Stafford + your tip to CRIMES (27463).
