Alexis Tiara Murphy was last seen at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released two security camera photos of missing teen Alexis Tiara Murphy. The stills are from the Liberty gas station on Rt. 29 in Lovingston, Va., where Alexis was last seen at about 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3.
The car in which she was traveling -- a white 2003 Nissan Maxima GLE SE with Virginia license plates WYN-3706 -- was located about 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Carmike 6 movie theater in Charlottesville, according to Nelson County Sheriff David Brooks.
Alexis is a 5-foot 7-inch black female who was last seen wearing a pink blouse, floral-print (full-length) spandex pants and brown boots. She was carrying a dark and light colored grey purse. Her right nostril and left side of her upper-lip are pierced.
The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police and the FBI held a news conference appealing to the public to come forward with information to aide in the investigation of Alexis’ disappearance. Alexis' family made a plea for her safe return.
"Please continue to contact authorities at 434-263-7050 with any information that would assist in locating Alexis and /or creating a time-line for authorities of her activities before her disappearance," an FBI spokesperson said. "It’s imperative that if you’ve seen something, you say something."
