Shots Fired Into Occupied Home

The investigation is ongoing.

A Fredericksburg resident living in the 200 block of Harris Street reported hearing several loud pops and the sound of glass breaking at about 8:30 p.m. Dec. 14.  "She searched her home and discovered what appeared to be a bullet hole through a window," said Natatia Bledsoe, Fredericksburg Police Department public information officer.

It was later discovered a round had also entered the room where two young children had been playing, Bledsoe said.

Evidence indicated multiple shots had hit the house. There were no injuries.

The next day, a neighbor found a firearm on the ground near the intersection of Harris Street and Airport Avenue. Officers collected the gun as potential evidence.

Anyone with information about this case should call Detective Ben Johnson at 540-654-5792.
