Teen Charged in Leeland Station Burglary

The juvenile was on probation for another crime when he was arrested. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the June 18 breaking and entering of a home on Neabsco Drive in the Leeland Station subdivision, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office reports.

Stafford County Detective Kurt McBride initiated an investigation and discovered a camera had been pawned at a local pawn shop, Sheriff's Office spokesman Bill Kennedy said.  This tied the 16-year-old to the break-in.  A search warrant was executed at the juveniles' home and evidence collected implicated the teen to the burglary, Kennedy said.

The juvenile has been charged with one count of breaking and entering, one count of grand larceny and one count of larceny with intent to sell. He is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

"The 16-year-old juvenile had just been released from house arrest and was on probation for a breaking and entering committed in the same area in the past," Kennedy said. He is being investigated for possible involvement in other break-ins in the Leeland Station area in the past few weeks.

This is an ongoing investigation and additional charges are possible.
