Cole, O’Halloran to Debate at UMW

The two candidates for Virginia's 88th district will meet September 18 in Fredericksburg.

Del. Mark Cole (R) and Democratic challenger Kathleen O’Halloran, candidates for the 88th District of the Virginia House of Delegates, will debate at the University of Mary Washington on Wednesday, Sept. 18.


Stephen Farnsworth, professor of political science and director of the Center for Leadership and Media Studies, will moderate the program. Local journalists will be panelists.

The debate will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Lee Hall, Room 411.

The Virginia House of Delegates 88th District [map] includes parts of Stafford, Spotsylvania, and Fauquier Counties, the Town of Remington and part of the City of Fredericksburg.

The debate is co-sponsored by the Legislation Action Committee of UMW’s Student Government Association; the UMW chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society; the university’s Center for Leadership and Media Studies and The Free Lance-Star.
