Vandals Take Out Three Side View Mirrors Across Town

Unknown vandals targeted cars in three different areas over the weekend, with three reports within 15 hours of side view mirrors broken, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

The first report in the 1000 block of Sunken Road came at 1:30 a.m. Friday. The second report was in the 400 block of Greenbrier Court at 7 a.m. And the last report was at 3:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Hanover Street.

There are no suspects or witnesses at this time, according to police.

BURGLARY: 

Charlotte International, 1609 Dixon St, 3/27 – 3/28 9:00 a.m. The owner reported that an unknown person entered the business and stole license plates and a set of car keys, as well as the Ford Crown Victoria matching the keys. The investigation is ongoing. 

Crystal Car Wash, 1221 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 3/28 -3/29 8:50 a.m. The owners reported that an unknown person broke in to the business and stole a quantity of cash from the register. The investigation is ongoing. 

La Surianita, 1215 Snowden St, 3/28 – 3/29 9:20 a.m. While investigating the burglary at Crystal Car Wash, officers discovered the door glass broken at the nearby La Surianita. The owner responded to the business and discovered that beer and cigarettes had been stolen from the store. The investigation is ongoing. 

ATTEMPTED BREAKING AND ENTERING: 

400 block Canal St, 3/29 – 3/30 1:30 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person slashed a window screen and broke a window pane on her house, but did not make entry. The investigation is ongoing.  

LARCENY: Mary Washington Hospital, 1201 Sam Perry Blvd, 3/29 – 3/30 7:50 a.m. An officer patrolling in the area found a pickup truck abandoned behind the Fredericksburg Shopping Center. The officer contacted the pickup’s owner, who confirmed that the truck should have been parked at the hospital and should not have been removed from there. The investigation is ongoing.
