July Fourth Downtown Street Closures

Help to plan ahead if you're driving to downtown Fredericksburg Thursday.

Fredericksburg's annual July 4th Heritage Festival will bring a large number of pedestrians and vehicles to the downtown area.  Following are the day's events and related street closures.

7:45 a.m. Heritage Festival Five-Mile Run - Rolling street closures from the 500 block of Caroline Street traveling through Normandy Village, Fall Hill Ave., Washington and Mary Ball, Kenmore, Wolfe and back to the 300 block of Charlotte. The 300 block of Charlotte Street will be closed from 6 - 10 a.m.

9:30 a.m. Annual Heritage Day Parade – Rolling Street closures in the 600 – 800 block of Caroline, left onto the 200 block of George, left onto the 600 - 800 blocks of Princess Anne, left onto the 200 block of Wolfe.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Festival of the Streets, Craft Show and Antique Car Show – Street closures 5 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on the 600 - 800 blocks of Sophia Street from Wolfe to George Streets; the 100 block of Charlotte and 100 Block of Hanover. The 200 block of Charlotte is closed due to construction. 

11:30 a.m. 32nd Annual Rappahannock River Raft Race – Begins at Falmouth Waterfront Park and ends at City Dock.

4:30 p.m. July 4th Spectacular with Fireworks at John Lee Pratt Park - John Lee Pratt Park is located at 120 River Rd. in Falmouth.  Those attending the July 4th Spectacular are encouraged to arrive early.  Gates close at 8:30 p.m.; earlier if police determine the crowd is too large.  Alcoholic  beverages, sparklers and grills are not allowed. All dogs must be on a leash.
